STRANGE No. 2

After producing “Jessica” and “Frank” (elaborated on in STRANGE No. 1) I then proceeded to paint small portraits using watercolour. These paintings were then scanned and put onto Photoshop where an overlaying technique was used and their opacity adjusted. The detailed facial features were concealed due to this technique, making one eager to figure out the actual appearance of the image.face3

Both drawings in “STRANGE No.1” were also used in this process.

The results:

I was very happy with the results, I think they are interesting pieces in themselves.

Doodles with my cat

My cat has a strange character, he never wants you to touch him but wants to be next to you. Jeffy A.K.A Putitu (my cat) conveniently decides to curl up next to me while I doodle on the sofa. Funnily enough this drawing was inspired by this feral yet timid creature in that he has a weird fetish for mushrooms and enjoys being next to people (as long as you don’t touch him).

This doodle is done in pen and watercolour, along with the tubby fur ball purring next to me 🙂

One Hit Wonder

Cards

Around three years ago, I was asked to draw multiple Christmas cards, the only way I could think of to go about doing so was through pen and water colour. The cards I created were 10cm/10cm and possess some simple and sweet illustrations of animals. The people I sent them to liked them so much that they commissioned me to draw several more so that they could give them to other people.

Seeing that these cards were quite a hit, I then created a Facebook page, “Hannah’s Handmade Cards” as well as an Instagram page, “hanshandmadecards” where I was constantly posting all the different card illustrations. For the following six months I was constantly posting and selling cards, making quite a bit of pocket money. Then, unfortunately,  the hype died down and so did my card making.

I still draw cards for family and friends, but that is as far as my one hit wander card business goes. :’)
